Fresco® Plaster Finish is very easily maintained from an end users standpoint. The hardness and strength of the product are derived from the composition of the cement and acrylics. Both the base coat and finish coat are integrally colored in order to make any nicks or gouges that do occur virtually impossible to detect. For general maintenance of nicks, scratches, stains and mars, we recommend a kitchen scrub sponge, such as 3M’s Scotch Brite pad , and plain water. Deeper mars can be removed by lightly sanding the area with a very fine sandpaper (220 grit). Since the system is integrally colored, scrubbing or sanding off a few mils of the surface will remove the mar without sacrificing any change in color.
Fresco® Plaster Finish is sealed with a minimum of 2 coats of penetrating concrete sealer and two coats of surface protectant so it can be cleaned with the use of a mild commercial cleaning agent, clear in color. This will be sufficient to remove any normal hand prints, beverage spills, dirt, splashes and any other everyday abuses of similar nature.
Should the need for a patch occur, a portion of the original formulation is reserved from the actual installation for a period of five years, the shelf life of the product. After that time period, should a need arise for patch material, additional material will be formulated. The original color formulation and color smears are stored on file to ensure a match to the original color.
